How to Play

Cipher Vault is a cryptogram. Decode the quote one letter at a time.

What this is: A quote is hidden behind numbers. Every time you see the same number, it is the same letter. Different numbers are different letters. Spaces and punctuation stay visible.
How to solve: Tap a numbered tile, then type a letter. That guess applies to that tile. Locked green tiles are already solved — one of every letter is already filled. Look at a filled T, read its number, find that number on an empty tile, and type T. Start with one-letter words (A or I) and tiny words like THE. Wrong guess costs a star. Soft hint shows number frequencies. Reveal fills one tile.
Points: You start with 100 points. Hints cost points. Finish a puzzle to earn more. Daily Vault is one extra puzzle per day. Optional Support / Points never required.
Rules: Start with 100 points. Each puzzle pre-fills a few tiles. One of those letters is a vowel when the quote has one. Wrong guess = −1 star. 0 stars = wait 45s for 1 star, or spend 75 pts for 2 stars. Soft hint = number frequencies (25 pts). Reveal = one tile (60 pts). Fill discovered letters = 400 pts. Solve puzzle = 1,200 pts and awards no points. A quote pays once. One you have already been dealt pays nothing, on every difficulty. Each puzzle starts at full value and every miss takes 10% off (it never drops below 10%). Perfect Clear bonus if you finish with no misses and no help. Points you keep also give XP; fill the XP bar to level up. Daily Vault once per day with bonus points. Keep a solve streak.
